Q: Where does the tuition take place?
A: In a family area of your own home. A desk/table and chairs will be required.

Q: When do sessions take place?
A: I have evening and weekend slots available.

Q: Do you have a CRB check?
A: Yes. I am more than happy to show you this.

Q: How long is each tuition session?
A: Sessions usually last one hour. However, longer sessions can be arranged if appropriate to the learner.

Q: How do you assess my tuition needs?
A: Before our sessions begin, I will meet (free of charge) with you and your parents/guardians to discuss your individual tuition needs. We will talk about where you are in your studies, what exam board you are with and which course you are studying. We will discuss what you, your parents/guardians and your teachers feel are your strengths and weaknesses and which methods of learning and revising do and don't work for you. If, following this initial meeting, you book a block of sessions, a plan will be drawn up outlining a suggested focus for each one. This plan, however, will not be rigid and can be altered as necessary to meet your changing needs.

Q: Am I required to book a certain number of sessions?
A: No. You can have as many or as few sessions as you want.

Q: Is there any discount available for block booking sessions?
A: Yes. Book a block of 10 sessions or more and receive a 10% discount.

Q: What payment methods do you accept and when do I pay?
A: I accept cash or cheque. Payment is due at the end of each session (or at the end of the first session if block booking ten sessions).

Q: What areas do you cover?
A: Newcastle, North Tyneside, South Northumberland.

Q: How do the sessions work?
A: All sessions are tailored to meet the specific needs of the tutee. A typical session will begin with a brief recap of what was covered during the previous session before moving on to cover a different topic or technique using a variety of active learning methods. At the end of the session we will review what has been learned, agree on a short homework task if appropriate and agree on the focus of our next session.
